Podcasts

I created and hosted a podcast, Unwasted, during my time at Imperfect. Below aere are 3 of the most downloaded episodes of all time (upwards of 4,000 downloads each) as well as 3 more of my personal favorites. Collectively, they embody my approach to the fun possibilities of this delightful longform medium.

Ron is a legend of an activist and community gardener and in this episode I really enjoyed giving him space to share his passion and wisdom about the power of re-thinking our urban spaces.

Putting an End to Food Apartheid with Olympia Auset

I always recommend this episode to people that want to understand why food deserts are such a persistent problem in American cities and am proud that this conversation ended up sparking a friendship and professional relationship with Olympia that's persisted to this day.

Doug Rauch of Trader Joe's on Conquering Food Waste and Hunger

I really loved some of the insights I coaxed out of Doug later on, specifically around why grocery stores get unfairly blamed for created so much waste, and how consumer expectations matter just as much as store inventory does.

This is one of my favorite episodes from a raw enthusiasm and rapport level. You can feel the generosity and wisdom of Joel radiating off of your screen when you listen to it and I love the insights he shared about cooking and his fascinating career arc.

In this delightful episode for aspiring entrepeneurs and beer fans alike, the founder of Regrained took me on an informative journey through how he turned the wasteful byproduct of beer brewing into a thriving sustainable business.

Allen Campbell held court on all things from tips for making your cooking more nutritious to how chefs can play a role in inspiring the general public to eat healthier.
